An investment in knowledge pays the best interest ~ Benjamin Franklin
Do you have interest in business analysis or project management? If so, how familiar are you with the desired profession? If there’s interest, where do you go for information? This post will provide links to available resources for those interested in learning more about professional disciplines of business analysis and project management.
Business analysis and project management are often intertwined and becoming more and more strategic for many organizations. PMI published a copy of a paper presented at their Global Congress in 2012 titled “Project management and business analysis: the dynamic duo”. The paper provides insights along with benefits of integrations between both disciplines. It explores ways to integrate project management and business analysis disciplines starting from the Project Management Institute (PMI) standard, A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge(PMBOK® Guide) and the International Institute for Business Analysis (IIBA®) standard, A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK® Guide).
There are a plethora of resources available to learn more about business analysis and project management. I will provide a short list for consideration. As a certified PMP, I frequency use PMI as my primary resource for all things project management. IIBA was established in 2003 for purposes of promoting and supporting the practice of business analysis. I have used IIBA as a source for industry related content, business analysis tools and certification preparation. Other resources such as Watermark Learning, ASPE, Winnow Management and SCRUM Alliance provide training and support for both areas of study. I’ve worked with all of the above and had favorable experiences with each organization.
As promised, links to the aforementioned resources are shared below to assist with your quest for additional knowledge.
