It’s been said, how we spend our days equates to how we spend our lives. This is certainly something to think about. If money wasn’t a factor, how would you spend your time? What would you do with your life? We are blessed with the gift of time and allowed to choose how we use it. There are 24 hours in a day. Have you given much thought to how you’re spending this precious gift? I have pondered the question a lot lately. In doing so, it has caused me to shift priorities and work smarter to maintain balance in areas that are most important to me.
How about you? Are your days filled with things that bring you joy, feelings of accomplishment, pride and contentment? Are you spending time in areas that yield long term rewards? It’s important to prioritize time and ensure you make daily deposits in areas that matter most.
For me, this includes spiritual growth, spending quality time with family and friends, professional development, community, health and recreation. I believe God has a purpose for mankind. We have unique talents. Some are fortunate enough to discover this early in life. Others are late bloomers but eventually figure it out. Many are still searching and some never find it. We are given a limited amount of time on earth. How rewarding would it be to live life with greater meaning and purpose? Life is short, even if you’re blessed to live 100 years. It goes really fast!
We all have regrets. However, it’s counterproductive to live life looking in the rear view mirror. Don’t allow concerns about the future to rob you of treasured time offered today. Don’t wait for someday, something or someone to appear to enjoy life, pursue your dreams or travel to that special place. Be confident in who you are and don’t allow anyone or anything to distract or keep you from becoming your best self. With faith and determination, the sky is the limit. Seize the moment and live!
Steve Jobs once said and I concur, the journey is the reward!
