Time to Blossom!

The expression “bloom where you’re planted” means an individual  should capitalize  on opportunities that are presented in their lives and be thankful for the current state. Frequently, if a person is unhappy with their present condition, they may struggle with this concept. However, there are many things you can do to thrive amid less than ideal  circumstances. First, work on cultivating the right mentality. The poem “Attitude” written by  Charles Swindoll’s reflects his views on the impact of our attitudes and is shown below:

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.  Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.  It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say or do.  It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.  It will make or break a company… a church… a home.  The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we embrace for that day.  We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.  We cannot change the inevitable.  The only thing we can do is play the one string we have, and that is our attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so, it is with you… we are in charge of our Attitudes”

Life is full of surprise. Nevertheless, life itself is a gift. As such, we should value it. Try to appreciate the blessings of each day and accept changes and setbacks. Second, look for ways to serve others and help where you can. Take risks, connect with others, and strive to give your best at home, work and play. Last, make the most of each day. Try to be a positive force from day to day and, eventually, you will bloom.

With gratitude,
