Winter Blessing!

This is a special day for me and my siblings! Many years ago, and I won’t say how many 😀, my grandmother gave birth to a beautiful daughter. Most know her by the name of Arleatha. We are blessed to call her Mom. This celebratory post is dedicated to my amazing mother.

According to Agatha Christie, a mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world. I can attest to this as both a daughter and mother. There’s a plethora of statements used to define the word “mother”. The following adjectives appropriately describe mine.

SMART | LOVING | STRONG | THOUGHTFUL | ELEGANT | EDUCATOR

We attended weekly church services during my childhood. Pastors, speakers and teachers would often make reference of the virtuous women defined in Proverbs 31. According to scripture, this woman is one who leads her home with integrity, disciple and grace. She practices all the virtues aimed at making her husband’s life better, teaching her children, attending to the needs of her home and serving God. I was blessed to grow up with an example of such a woman.

Over the years, I watched my mom work tirelessly to serve others and ensure our needs were met. Everyone was considered family in our community, so the outreach was beyond her household. Our home was filled with love, laughter, prayer and extra food to share with unexpected guests. My mom made this look easy. I have come to realize that its not. I am forever grateful for the love, guidance, support and encouragement provided by this wonderful lady.

She utilized her talents to educate students of all ages and served in ministry as First Lady for many years. She has entered a new chapter in life and trusting God along the journey. Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come as stated in Proverbs 31:25.

Much love and appreciation Mom. Thanks for everything. Enjoy your special day!

With gratitude,
